    Moonkit gulped. Her heart was still pounding from the surprise of the bear. And because of Cougarstar's question. "Umm... Y-yes sir." She stuttered.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    The Bearclan leader remembered the prophecy the old, blind cat in Starclan had told him at the Moon Tree. "The wild berries that ripen with clean water, will become the bitterest or all." The old siamese's fur stood on end. A long pause went in between Moonkit's quiet confession and Cougarstar's response. "Explain."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    The tabby kit inhaled deeply, her fur pricked up. She looked down at her paws. "I left the camp. I... Um... Accidently trampled through some berries and, I... Uh..." The small she-kit was on the verge breaking down into sobs. "I think I lead the bear here." She meowed a little louder than she wanted to.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Cougarstar looked down at the small furry kit. Berries. On her paws. He thought. She may be the berries! The leader's eyes scanned his clan. Hawkkit looked up at him, her bright blue eyes boring into his. Her eyes look like water. Clear water. Cougarstar was beginning to put the pieces together. Hawkkit is the clean water, and Moonkit are the berries. He looked back at Moonkit, her pale blue eyes pleading silently with him. Cougarstar knew what he had to do. To keep his clan safe. "Moonkit."
    The tabby kit replied. "Y-yes?'"
    Cougarstar dearly regretted the decision he was about to make. But he would sacrifice one cat for the safety of his entire clan if he had to. "I'm sorry, Moonkit, but you must leave."
    The siamese leader heard many gasps, and meows from his clan. Silverstripe, Moonkit's mother, came up to him. They were nose to nose.
    "You can not just send my own daughter away like that." She meowed sternly. "It was an honest mistake of her's and she didn't mean to put the clan in danger." The brown queen was furious. "She's just a kit, she'll make mistakes. Everyone does."
    Cougarstar dipped his head. "I know, Silverstripe. But she must go." He mewed with as much strength in his voice as possible. "I have my reasons, and they are very good ones." He looked down at the small bundle of brown tabby fur in front of him. "Moonkit, you must leave."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Moonkit didn't know what to say. How could Cougarstar order her to leave? It was just an accident, she didn't mean to lead the bear into the camp. The terrified she-kit wanted to say something, but the words wouldn't come out. Cougarstar whispered something into her mother's ear. Silverstripe's face went from extreme anger, into deep sorrow almost instantly as the Bearclan leader mewed. Once Cougarstar moved his muzzle away from the brown queen's ear she looked down at Moonkit, her green eyes held pools of sorrow.
    "Come on, Moonkit." She purred. "You have to leave."
    Moonkit froze. She felt as though her paws were stuck to the ground. She looked up at her mother, and then her leader. The small tabby kit shakily stood up, knowing nothing she said could change Cougarstar's decision.
    Silverstripe slowly led her first daughter out of the Bearclan camp. Once on the border of Bearclan and Mistclan territory, she mewed something into Moonkit's ear.
    "I love you, dearest. I loved you yesterday, I love you still. I always have, and always will." The queen mewed shakily. The frightened she-kit almost whimpered, knowing that she may never see her mother again. Silverstripe pushed Moonkit forward a little toward the Mistclan border. "Don't worry my lovely." She mewed. "If you find a patrol tell them you want to see Featherstar. Don't say anything else about Bearclan or the bear attacking the camp. I am positive Featherstar will care for you and let you stay." The queen purred with great sorrow.
    Moonkit slowly stepped over the border and into Mistclan territory. She looked back at her mother. The silver stripe down her back stood out against the oak trees. The tabby kit mouthed 'I love you' to her mother. As Moonkit tiredly trotted through the damp ground of Mistclan territory all she could think about was her mother, and sister laying in the nursery mourning over their lost family member.
