Rakekit's Apprentice Ceremony

    "Let all cats old enough to fight on four paws come sit beneath the high Root for a clan meeting!" Duskstar called. The camp came alive with cats, there where cats coming out of all corners of the camp. How I love my clan, Duskstar thought, we will have a new apprentice today.

    Once most of Darkclan was seated Duskstar raised her head and said "Today one of these young cats is starting their journey into warriorhood." Duskstar paused and skimmed her clan. Her eyes locked on a dark brown kit. "Rakekit, please step forward." The small tom walked over calmly trying to contain his excitement. "Rakekit, do you promise to study and learn the warrior code?"

    "I do." Rakekit replied.

    "Through your training do you promise to protect your clan even at the cost of your life?"

    "I do"

    "Then, from this moment forward, until you get your warrior name, you will be known as Rakepaw." Duskstar looked straight at Rakepaw with kindness in her eyes. "And I will be your mentor."

    Duskstar jumped off the high Root and came up to Rakepaw. They touched noses, as all mentors and apprentices do. The clan burst out in cheers."Rakepaw! Rakepaw! Rakepaw!" Duskstar say a sparkle in Rakepaw's eyes, He has a destiny that is beyond anything I can image...
